Who we are
Welcome to Sheffield Hallam Students Union Christian Union!
We are a group of students, passionate about sharing the love and good news of Jesus Christ across our campuses at Sheffield Hallam. Whatever your faith or background, we would love to meet you!
We meet weekly, to hear from the Bible, worship together, and encourage one another in our walk with Christ at university. We also hold lots of social events, and make lots of time to hang out in order to get to know each other and make some amazing friends!
Supported by UCCF (the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship), we are part of a large network of Christian Unions in universities across the country, all doing incredible things.
UCCF support us primarily through our staff worker Katie, and our relay workers Lucie and Joe!
If you want to find out more about UCCF and how you can support them, please visit their website: www.uccf.org.uk
What our members think
Thanks to the CU, from day 1 at uni, I was surrounded by really lovely Christian friends who were close by and who I can relate to. My uni experience just wouldn’t be the same without the CU and I’m so glad to have been involved. It’s been a real encouragement for me to have the courage to invite my non-Christian friends to events and see them engaging with the good news of Jesus!
Hannah, Food and Nutrition (3rd year)
CU has been such an encouragement to me from my first year in university! The people, meetings, activities and so much more has helped me settle right into life away from from and I feel so blessed to be able to have a community like this.
Moyo, Nutrition, Diet and Lifestyles (3rd year)
I had such an amazing experience as a first year at Hallam CU, such a warm, welcoming environment. Arriving at uni with hardly any Christian friends it was such an encouragement to meet so many great students and gave me the chance to meet so many new Christians, 3 of which I am now living with as a second year.
Maya, Human Geography (2nd year)
The Christian Union at Sheffield Hallam has truly been a source of hope, love and support for me during my study abroad exchange semester. It was a time each week that I could look forward to spending with friendly, kind people and worship in fellowship together.
