Who we are
Welcome to Sheffield Hallam Students Union Christian Union!
We are a group of students who love Jesus and want His name to be known throughout Sheffield Hallam - we'd love to meet you, whatever your faith or background.
We meet together weekly to hear from the Bible, worship together, and encourage one another in our walk with Christ at university. We also have a social time at the end of each meeting where we can get to know each other.
We are supported by UCCF (the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship), and are therefore part of a large network of Christian Unions in universities across the country.
UCCF support us primarily through our staff worker Katie, and our relay worker Pete.
If you want to find out more about UCCF and how you can support them, please visit their website: www.uccf.org.uk
What our members think
Hallam CU is a great place to meet and make new friends - I made several Christian friends that encourage me to grow in faith. Hallam CU is a place of fellowship amongst people experiencing the same joys and struggles of uni, a place where Christian students unite and encourage each other to reach out to those around them with the gospel.
Susanna, English literature and History student
I see the CU as the best way to practise and deepen my faith outside of church. It has given me hope, joy, trust, and peace both in my life, and in the Lord to be with like-minded brothers and sisters.
Jonny, Software Engineeering student
It has been a new and beneficial experience for me to be able to spend time with other students with the same desire to live each day for Christ. I have also found it refreshing and helpful to be able to talk with others on how to view student struggles from a Christian perspective.
Joanna, Illustration student
The Christian Union at Sheffield Hallam has truly been a source of hope, love and support for me during my study abroad exchange semester. It was a time each week that I could look forward to spending with friendly, kind people and worship in fellowship together.
